Introduction

The rhododendron, also known as Núria boxwood, dominates the shrub layer of black pine forests, and we can find it between 1,500 and 2,500 meters in the Pyrenees.
Very attractive when it is flowered, the rhododendron is moderately toxic, leading to diarrhea and vomiting.
In popular medicine their leaves have been used to fight rheumatism and gout. Nowadays analgesic, astringent, diuretic and expectorant properties are attributed to it.
This small shrub can live for more than 100 years.
