Introduction

Pinus uncinata
We are in the territory of the black pine, which is usually between 1,600 and 2,200 meters.
The specific name derives from the Latin adjective uncinatus (in the form of a hook) and refers to the flakes on the back of the pineapples. Look at the nail sahpe that they have.
The black pine is a tree of slow growth and long life, it can get to live more than 600 years.
As a curiosity, we will say that shepherds used resinous chips, especially old specimens, to enlighten themselves.
