Introduction
This is a sandy beach extending from north to south, from the Port of l'Estartit to the Gola del Ter, curving gently inland over its length of some three kilometres. Its southern part is protected in the Montgrí Natural Park. It includes a very well-preserved system of dunes and coastal ponds from the area of la Pletera and to the south as far as the Gola, where the Ter flows into the sea. From here you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Medes Islands and of the whole beach, from the port to where the Ter cuts through the line of sand to flow into the sea.
