Introduction
The Muga rises at Albanyà, under the Pla de la Muga (1186 m), in the Alta Garrotxa, on the border between Vallespir and Alt Empordà. From Hostal de la Muga (on both sides of the river), for about 5.5 km, it forms the border between France and Spain.
