Introduction
The farmhouse that we have in front is Ca l'Amar de la Torre, dates from 1632 although the Amar family was there from before. The defense tower was from the previous building, with the construction of the new farmhouse annexed to the new building.
The current farmhouse has not been modified since it was built, it has a symmetrical composition, with three openings for each of the three floors, rectilinear layout at the openings (except the sloping round doorway) and on the facades, there are slabs to defend themselves.
This farmhouse, with cultivated fields around it, is an example of a fortified house with a defense tower. We are at the “Rial de Can Amar”, where we find another protection system: orchards are also surrounded by a wall, or “mot”, built to defend themselves, but in this case, of water.
