Description

Fields, farms and streams of Argentona’s gully

The route leads us to know the surroundings of “Can Castells” starts touching the Argentona gully, near the house and tower “Can Comalada”. Walk a few meters from the wide trail that follows parallel to the stream and turn uphill, but with a gentle slope, to a narrower track, wedged between vegetation predominated by oaks, the mastic and some hackberry, interspersed reed stripes.

A little further up from the track, we can see to our right the banana trees of “Can Castells”, with some impressive port examples. We will leave the track to get closer to the banana tree pond of “Can Castells” and a little later we will walk next to “Can Castells”, now abandoned and in ruins.

Follow the road and we will reach a second pond in a peaceful and quiet place, where you can hear the birds singing and transport us to a not too distant agricultural past.

From this point, then, we enter the stream of “Can Martí”, which we will continue along a gentle downhill, admiring African oaks of a large size and noble image.

Without realizing it we will reach the main trail that passes parallel to the stream and back to the starting point.
