Introduction

Colored trees and water threads

We propose a family walk through the gloomy paths of the two streams that cross the “Plans de Corriol”, discovering the diversity of trees that are established along them and the their beautiful fountains. Stop at the “Guitarra” fountain and enjoy its magical surroundings. Autumn and spring are the two ideal seasons to do it.

Description

Colored trees and water threads

We leave the village, heading to the Castle, passing along some fountains on the street. At “Coll del Castell”, we take off to the old fountain at the foot of the stream, going up smooth, soft, upstream, along a beautiful road with steps produced on natural stone, surrounded by booms and hazels until we reach the second fountain, “Saltiri’s”.

Following on, without realizing it, we pass under “Mas Corriol” and then we go upstairs to the plains next to La Fontana. The presence of fir trees and some ornamental tree such as the Indian chestnut tree make our hands shield. We come out of the gloomy stream of hazelnuts, ash, walnuts and some tart, to enter the field of beech. A small but beautiful grove that in the autumn takes on a great role, and in the spring the crested tits make the nest in the boxes that you will find hanging from the branches.

We move from the headwind of the stream to find the “Mal” stream, where we will go down. The beech grove, sprinkled with fir trees and some red pine, is transformed into an oak tree landscape with beautiful groups of trunks and some very white crust’s bark.

Let's go down to look for the “Mal” stream through a road, covered with hazelnuts. Above these, the aspens and the oaks make a second envelope. Very quickly, we arrive at a special place, transformed by mankind to enjoy the freshness and to take baths in the summer. It is the “Guitarra” fountain, where the two fountains, the shade of the bananas and the rafts, invite us to lie down and let time run.

After the road that goes up to the “Corriol” plain, we continue downstream until we cross the stream in a beautiful corner full of white and mossy maples. From here we will gain height, moving away from its channel, entering the ‘oak country’ again. The views of the center and ‘throat’ of the Castle descending through one of the oldest streets of the village are fantastic.

Tips

TRACK

  • Walkways near the stream and easy track.
  • Lightweight climb first and downhill path afterwards.
  • Once at “Mas Corriol”, you can shorten the walk if you take the road to the left and link again with the track. You will lose the “Guitarra” fountain and the beech grove.

WATER

  • There are fountains in the village and at the beginning and end of the route.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Pay attention to wet days. The stones and roots of the paths are very slippy.
  • You can find mud if it has rained.
  • Respect private property and the heritage that you find.
  • There are yarns and cattle doors that you must close again.
  • Be careful if it's raining across the streams. Maybe you get wet.
  • Attention to the final section of the road. There is a high cliff on the side.

METEO

  • Shady path suitable for summer.
  • Avoid walking it, if it is raining or having rained the day before.

LAND

  • Steps made of stone that can slip if it is moist.
  • The roots can also make us slip or stumble.
  • You will find mud if it has rained.

MATERIAL

  • Comfortable footwear
  • Camera, especially in the fall.
  • Binoculars if you like watching forest birds.

OTHER EQUIPMENT

Ruta molt agradable i recomanable.
