Introduction
The vegetation surrounding the cliffs of Tavertet largely consists of Mediterranean forest, primarily dominated by the mountainous holm oak forest, as is the case in the forest we are currently in. It is a dense forest with a not very tall tree layer where the holm oak (Quercus ilex) predominates, with some small specimens of oak and an undergrowth mainly composed of boxwood.
In the midst of the holm oak forest, wild boar tracks are common, but it is also home to foxes, squirrels, genets, martens, and rabbits, among others.
