Pine forests

Index card

Introduction

First, splashing oaks and ash trees, and then alone, the red pine forms forests rising from 1200 to 1600 meters. Over 1800 m, only black pine can withstand harsh climatic conditions. In the upper part of the route, near the refuge, the predominant shrubs are the neret cushions and the blueberry carpets where there is a little more light. The pink flowering in the early summer of the neret is spectacular. Other plants of this genus (Rhododendron) are used in gardening for the beauty of their flowers and persistent leaves. Dried leaves can be used in low doses (10 g per liter of water) to fight rheumatism and gout. Cranberry (arándano in Spanish) is a low plant of deciduous leaves. Its fruits are small dark blue berries, sweet and edible, widely used to make jams and liqueurs.
