Introduction
It is a granite rock monolith, molded by the erosion of natural elements during centuries, which presides Platja d'Aro’s Platja Gran and it has become a true symbol of the town.
From this place, the first tourist campaign of the town "El amor se cita en Playa de Aro" was created (which consisted on a draw, and the winners, a foreign couple, would get to stay in a hotel establishment in the town). And it is also a place where the “Cantada d’Havaneres” of Platja d'Aro was celebrated, honoring José Luis Ortega and Monsaterio, the composer of the song "My grandfather" and a member of the “havaneres” group "Cavall Bernat", in memory to this monolith.
