Introduction

The trees above the rock don't grow any more because they can't. This is a case of natural bonsai trees. Imagine what it must be like for a tree to grow on top of the rock, with little soil, salt water and in direct sunlight. Alongside these trees, other holm oak bushes do what they can. There are pistacia lentiscus and Mediterranean buckthorn.

If we look back along the way we've come, towards the Les Dides lookout point, we can see how the pine forest gives way to holm oaks, which in turn give way to rock then sea.

In the opposite direction we can see Sant Pol beach and the Casa Estrada.

Above the tunnel, near the coast, there are caves we'll be able to see from the other side.
