Introduction
We are now in the Mascanada area, where the Las Comas stream crosses through. The abundant groundwater would emerge at various fountains, mines, wells and windmills. The numerous farmhouses and irrigation basins we find along by the stream until we reach the Can Assols farm, demonstrate the fertility of this small Les Comes valley. A good example is its windmill. In 1854, the company was created to exploit the mine for domestic use. The mine, which still exists, follows the stream below ground and used to take the water to the centre of the village. A bit further ahead, on the left, the pretty Can Coromines house is hidden.
