Introduction
Nineteenth-century tower built in the 1920s by commission of Teresa Ametller i Cros, daughter of chocolate manufacturer Antoni Ametller. During the Civil War, it served as a children's refuge, and after the war, it became the residential headquarters of the Women's Section for Social Aid. Subsequently, it was managed by nuns and finally acquired and converted into a youth hostel by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The three-story building retains its original design, with classical elements such as Ionic columns and sgraffito. The almond trees on the main facade stand out, alluding to the house's name.
