Description
Casa Armet is a modernist building designed by the architect Ferràn Romeu i Ribot in 1898 and located on Avinguda de Gràcia in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
It was designed as a summer house commissioned by a rich Barcelonian. It is the first example of modernism in Sant Cugat.
For the first time, Ferràn Romeu combines brick, stone, ceramics and timber in a building. This architectural statement is a clear reference to the Quatre Gats building that Puig i Cadafalch had built two years before in Barcelona.
The neo-gothic volumes modulated in straight lines stand out. The facade is decorated with a frieze of colored faience.
The garden has been completely preserved. In 1899, a windmill and a water tank were built on an elevated brick structure which is considered of great formal and structural interest.
