Introduction
Many areas of woodland are to be found along the course of the river, populated by poplars, willows, alders and small-leaved ash trees. The riverbank woodland is one of the most productive and biologically diverse habitats in Catalonia, adapted to the instability of the river, which brings an abundant supply of water but also the ever-present risk of flooding.
