Introduction
These linear formations, in this case cypresses but elsewhere black poplars, banana plants, ashes, etc., are typical of the Baix Ter, and as well as from their scenic value, they are very important for maintaining biodiversity. They preserve humidity and create a very important microclimate for the plant species around them. They act as a corridor and refuge for a wide range of small mammals and reptiles in a very exposed setting.
Their functions also include preventing soil erosion and the spread of pollutants.
