Introduction
The winemaking tradition in the Empordà dates back to the 6th century BC, with the founding of the Greek colony of Empúries (and also that of Rhode, at Roses), which not only gave us this new culture of wine and the trade it brought but also eventually the name for the whole the region, "Empordà".
