Introduction
The construction of the first church began in 1725. At first, there were houses for the fishermen who lived in La Selva de Mar and other villages in the vicinity. Here they kept fish and fishing utensils. This small hub grew until, in 1787, it became independent from the La Selva de Mar, when Carles III granted it the status of a royal town.
