Introduction
It is a large block of granite located between the “Turó de Montalt” (596 m) and “Turó del Mig” (550 m), where the municipal limits of Arenys de Munt, Dosrius and Sant Vicenç de Montalt come together. It is the smallest of the two stones that there is, it has an engraving that looks like a horseshoe, but the meaning is unknown. It could be a mark that delimited the old parishes.
Granite is a hard rock, of granulated texture, which in the Maresme has been used for construction. From the fresh granite called "snake eye" (ull de serp), the black and other contrasted components makes you think about the eye of a snake.
In this environment, and during the next section of the route, we will find small accumulations of granite blocks, disordered, heterometric and rounded, which accumulate in a horizontal or slightly inclined relief. These capricious formations have their origin in weathering. The rainwater dissolves the feldspar and the great initial rock scratches and gives rise to rounded shapes and the sand.
