Introduction
This fountain is one of the few that has not been restored by the “Grup de fonts d’Argentona” as it is formerly preserved. We recommend not to drink its water, before enjoyable, because some clearing work was damaging the spring and now it has a slight muddy taste.
We highlight from this fountain, the chestnut with several feet that we have touching the fountain and which gives its name. From the Chestnut we take advantage of almost everything; the nuts for theit high content of carbohydrates in the past was an important food source; the bark is used for the preparation of many pharmaceutical products to treat sore throats, bronchitis, irritative cough and diarrhea; and finally the wood for the manufacturing of poles, stakes, lining plates and wine barrels.
