Introduction
The Molí Bernat Bridge is 20 meters long and 4.60 meters high. Pay attention to the semicircular-backed railing restored in collaboration with the sculptor Josep Santín, a resident of Tavertet. The bridge is set on natural rock blocks and, despite the passage of time, is in good condition. This suggests that it must have undergone other interventions throughout history.
The Old Bridge, or Molí Bernat Bridge, was located along the old royal path that connected the village with the farmhouses of Les Baumes, El Noguer, Sobiranes, Can Tafura, and Mierons. When the current road was opened in 1964, the bridge fell into disuse after nearly 500 years.
Although it is difficult to pinpoint its construction date, various versions date it to the mid-14th century. Documents mention levies from the town councils to the men of the surrounding villages, requiring them to help in the construction of various bridges in the area.
