Introduction
We are on the sunny side of the south face of the Sant Corneli mountain range. This orientation favors the predominance of Mediterranean vegetation, and in this case the forest of mountain oak (Quercetum mediterraneomontanum), mainly structured by main oak (Quercus ilex), and with some specimens of Martinenc oak (Quercus pubescens).
The oak grove has always been closely linked to the activity of man, who for centuries has taken advantage of it for firewood, coal and pasture. In the past they were regrowth forests that were maintained with a clear understory. The abandonment of this management has favored the growth of a dense forest with a large presence of other species in the undergrowth. Some of the plant species that we can find in this forest are: the marfull, the corner, the catosa, the juniper, and some small specimens of white beam tree.
