Introduction
From the lookout tower, the beaches of Cal Francès can be seen, bordered to the south by the platja de la Pineda and the Estany de la Murtra wetland. To the north lies the platja del Remolar, within the Remolar-Filipines Natural Area. The adjacent channel is the outlet of the riera de Sant Climent.
This beach retains a natural character thanks to surrounding pinewoods and wetlands. It measures 320 metres in length. Stone pines along the shoreline show signs of marine spray exposure.
Dune vegetation and temporary pools provide habitat for coastal birds. The platja del Remolar extends nearly 800 metres in length and over 100 metres in width and forms part of the Xarxa Natura 2000.
