Introduction

Modern buildings with a significance that goes beyond agriculture. The name l’Emissora refers to the fact that they occupy the site intended for a radio transmitter to be built by the Republican Generalitat, for which the antenna was actually installed.

In 1934, Ràdio Associació de Catalunya purchased land at les Ràfoles, where construction of the radio station began in 1936. Viladecans Town Council approved the project on 21 March 1936, and the first stone was laid on 9 May. The fascist military coup of July 1936, which led to the Spanish Civil War, brought construction to a halt. The transmitter equipment never reached Viladecans, as it was stopped at the French border and later transferred to Francoist Salamanca.

On the building closest to the path, you can still see, on both the south and north walls, the pillars with iron cores that supported the antenna.
