The wild boar

Introduction

In this lovely small woodland of Can Pere Trius, thanks to forest management, we find a pleasant combination of carob trees, holm oaks, Aleppo pines and, beneath them, lentisks, carrizo grass and large aladierns.

Along the path, the presence of wild boar is evident: turned-over soil, muddy puddles, footprints and occasional tree trunks smeared with mud. All of these are signs indicating that wild boar come down close to houses in search of food.

Bear in mind that the wild boar population is increasing exponentially due to the mild climate and easy access to food (urban waste containers), which allows them to reproduce twice a year.
