Introduction
This 3,000 m² romantic-style garden of Can Modolell is located in the heart of the old town, on the north facade of the Ajuntament. The current neo-Gothic building was constructed by Magdalena Modolell i Freixa and Jaume Nogués i Taulet in 1892, following architect Josep Azemar’s project.
From the romantic period, the stairs and central stone where water flowed to the pond remain. Exotic trees planted at the time are represented here: a large central linden with beautiful blue spring blooms, which can also flower in autumn; a group of tall washingtonias; and large deodar cedars.
