Introduction

Here these trees of smooth and gray bark grow, deciduous, elongate and a little dentate, it is very common to find them near farmhouses, although they are also used as an ornamental tree in urban areas.

They are typical of southern Europe, North Africa, and West Asia, and have been used both for their wood, for their edible fruits and for their medical properties, but also to ink woven in yellow and to feed animals with its branches and leaves.

It’s hard and light wood is used to make charcoal, and tools for the field as forks and mangoes, and its sweet and dark fruit when it is ripe, despite not having too much pulp, is good for making jams.
