Introduction
This stretch of the route runs through typical Mediterranean landscape, a well-balanced mosaic of crop fields, copses, farmhouses, and riverside woodlands. Agriculture was the main traditional activity in the valley, which supplied Girona with fresh food products, while forging trade links between the city and its surrounding area.
