Introduction

During the route, in the black pine forest, we find different types of lichens. Lichens are associations between two organisms, a fungus and a seaweed, living in symbiosis.
On the rocks we find crustacean lichens, which make like a crust which is very attached to the rock.
In the trees, either on the trunk or on the branches, we find two more types: the fruity lichens, hanging from the branches, and the foliacis, which make a structure similar to small leaves on the trunks.
Lichens, especially arbores, are great bioindicators, since they are very sensitive to atmospheric pollution. Its presence indicates that the area's environment is excellent.
