Introduction
Under the large steep cliffs at the foot of which we have been walking, and early on, due to the frost, the screes are formed. These screes only form in places where the slope is higher than 35 degrees. |
Due to gravity, the smaller pieces of rock remain on the upper part, and the smaller ones in the lower areas. The accumulation of fragments causes the slope to decrease, slowing down the process and gaining stability. |
Screes with size frahments smaller than 6 cm are more unstable and they are called "pedrusques" in catalan (no translation to English), and when they are fixed by soils and vegetation they are called "clapers". |
