Description
Climb up from Queralbs to Nuria's Sanctuary |
Although the route can also be done downhill, we recommend that you do the climb route for the effort grattitude and the arrival at the sanctuary of Núria at the end of the route. |
We start at the old route of Queralbs to Núria in Queralbs Square and from the beginning we start to gain height. In this first section of the route we will walk through woods where the ash trees and oaks dominate. We will pass next to Ruíra's fountain and immediately we will see the first birch, but also aspens and willows. |
We cross the first stretches and we will approach the cliffs that flank the course of Núria's river, which we cross for the first time when crossing Creaml's bridge. From this point on we will start to link a series of waterfalls such as the Sastre and the Cua de Cavall, which will make the route very pleasant despite the steep rise. |
From the ruins of the Sastre waterfall, we start to enjoy the first specimens of black pine and, a little more up, of the first rhododendron. |
We arrive to Sallent plain and we cross Núria's river again, the road becomes smooth for a few meters but immediately continues to gain a steepness until reaching the Coll de la Creu d'en Riba, where we will have imposing views of the lake and Núria's Sanctuary, but a lot of the "Olla de Núria". |
Now we just have to go down gently and comfortably to Núria's Sanctuary and enjoy its wonderful surroundings. |
