Introduction

Roca's or Baix Fountain Lake is 1460 meters high, in an area of meadows with plenty of broad-leaved ash trees and boxwood. It is a humid area of great biological interest. This lake together with the Tarter and the one of the raft in Serra de la Canya, is part of the complex "Estanys i Basses de la Serra Cavallera".
The pond is practically covered with grass or water lilac (foto-planta aquàtica de la família de les Patomogetonaceae).
This humid area is of great importance for the reproduction of medium mountain amphibians and some invertebrates. It is also an important boiling point for wildlife.
