Introduction
Roca's or Baix Fountain Lake is 1460 meters high, in an area of meadows with plenty of broad-leaved ash trees and boxwood. It is a humid area of great biological interest. This lake together with the Tarter and the one of the raft in Serra de la Canya, is part of the complex "Estanys i Basses de la Serra Cavallera". |
The pond is practically covered with grass or water lilac (foto-planta aquàtica de la família de les Patomogetonaceae). |
This humid area is of great importance for the reproduction of medium mountain amphibians and some invertebrates. It is also an important boiling point for wildlife. |
