Introduction
The rocks on which we have been walking from the beginning of the route to Salt del Grill (Grill's Waterfall), where we are, are gneisses (Núria de Carançà gneisses). These are rocks resulting from the metamorphism and partial fusion of the original granite material. |
The hardness of these rock formations facilitates the creation of narrow gorges and torrents such as the Salt del Grill torrent, where we are, or the gorges del Freser, a little higher up the mountains. |
