Introduction

This cylindrical tower crowns the mountain from which it takes its name. It is a lookout tower, which in times of pirates was used to warn of the presence of attackers. The warning was made using smoke signals, which were repeated on other towers to alert people inland of the hostile presence.

In its interior, of some 2 metres in diameter, you can still see the marks of the wattles of the formwork used to shape the cupula.
