Introduction

The old part of Pals, called the Pedró, is the part that was enclosed by the old medieval wall, some stretches of which have been preserved. Once you are in the Plaça Major of the town, we recommend passing through the entrance gate on Carrer Major so you can explore the network of streets of medieval origin, the Torre de les Hores, the Church of Sant Pere and, leaving the space enclosed by the north wall, access the Josep Pla viewpoint, as this is where the writer offers the best literary descriptions of this area of the Baix Ter and the Empordanet.
