Introduction
Built on the peak of the Muntanya dels Recs, are these two fortified farmhouses (Can Jepot and Can Reding), built in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. From the peak, the old lake of Sant Joan de Bellcaire can be seen, where the owners grew rice.
At the Clot dels Recs, remains were found of the bottoms of huts of the fishermen from the lake that used to cover the land at the feet of these farmhouses, with ceramics and pits for storing grain. This suggests that the two farmhouses were built on earlier structures.
