Introduction

This is Llabià, a small village in the municipality of Fontanilles which there are records of dating back to the tenth century. It is located on the top of a small hill with very good views of the old lake of Ullastret, which has now been drained and turned into fields.

One of the most charming corners of Llabià is the Church of Sant Romà, of Romanesque origin and in a good state of conservation. Its structure dates from the twelfth to thirteenth centuries although there is proof of the church existing before then. It is now listed in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

This is an ideal spot to rest under the magnificent carob tree in the square and drink some water from the fountain.
