Introduction
Now take a short out and back stretch to admire the Barraca dels Hereus, one of the best conserved huts in these mountains, intended for sheltering from the rain and, if needed, as a temporary overnight shelter in periods with lots of work in the fields.
It has a lintel with a relieving arch and the so-called sliding slab in the roof, which meant it could be covered or uncovered if a fire was lit inside.
Although it is stepped in shape, do not climb up it as you could knock off some of the stones, causing the hut to collapse in little time. Help keep it in good condition!
