Introduction
To the right of the track, you can see the remains of the lime furnace of els Hereus. As always, the furnace is located next to a large track which is not very steep, as it was important to ensure quick and easy access for the carts that transported and distributed the lime once it had been fired.
Very close to the furnace, in an entrance on the left of the path, you can clearly see the remains of a quarry, from which limestone was extracted, suitable for producing lime. That the furnace and the quarry were so close to each other is no coincidence, as the places chosen were also picked according to whether they fulfilled these requirements for proximity.
