Introduction

It is a Romanesque building with a single nave, covered with a cannon vault, and a semicircular apse with a quarter turn, and Lombard decoration, with arches between borders. The apse shows a centered window with a semicircular arch and double stucco, of the same type as the two located at the midday wall of the nave. It was built during the 10th and 11th centuries. The rugged morphology of the terrain, motivated from the 16th century, the settlement was displaced towards Fanals d'Aro, which was better connected. The old church remained open to worship until 1749. During some time, it was used by the neighbor farmhouse, until it was inhabited.

Today this church is a great example of Catalan Romanesque art.
