Introduction
The old chapel of Vallvanera is attached to the farmhouse with the same name. Already in existence in 1324 with the name of Sant Cugat des Far, it depended on the monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, which was priory in 1439. For a long time, it was a monastery of nuns and the present invocation was introduced in 1698 when an image of the Virgin of Valvanera, patron saint of La Rioja, was placed there. Sold to a private individual in the middle of the 20th century, the church became the dining room of the person who bought it. In 1966, this new chapel was built. Nothing was kept from the monastery.
