Introduction
With the abandonment of forestall areas, one of the animals that has proliferated the most is the wild boar. Boar density is growing year after year. It currently stands between 7-8 individuals per 100 hectares, which means that only in Gavarres, there would be more than 2,000 wild boars! Wild boars feed themselves on roots and fruits such as acorns. The holes we see here are basins where they bath with mud to remove parasites. They’re animals with very strict routines and normally the “ponds” are used throughout generations of wild boars.
