The Can Causa plain

Introduction

We find ourselves on a plateau. A high, open space, without trees, just meadow and low shrubs. The ruins of the Mas de Can Caussa and its farm already indicate that nobody has lived here for a few years. Grazing, wildfires and strong winds have created a scrubland of low bushes, compact and rounded that grow in the shelter between the rocks. We can distinguish two species of rock roses: the Montpellier rock rose (Cistus monspeliensis) with white flowers and sticky leaves of dark green colour and the grey-leaved rock rose (Cistus albidus) with paler leaves and pink flowers.
