Introduction

We are now in sa Platjola or Cala Canyissos. As you can see, the reeds come from behind the rocks. Just in front, we have the highest edge of the massif section, above the sea. Here, the granite rocks are exposed. The climatic elements gradually fragment the rock by means of the cracks you can see and the irregularly shaped blocks fall to the sea. Once in the sea, the water drags them to the seabed and moves them up and down (listen to the sound of the rocks moving around against each other under the water) until they are completely rounded down, like balls or large pebbles. When storms come in from the East, these pebbles are deposited on the beach. Also, where the granite rock is not completely consolidated, landslides can send materials down onto the beach. In this way, little by little, over thousands of years, the coastline is gradually formed.
