Introduction
We are now in the Mascanada area, where the Les Comes stream passes through. The abundant groundwater was used for various fountains, mines, wells and windmills. The numerous farmhouses and irrigation basins we find along by the stream until we reach the Can Assols farmhouse demonstrate the fertility of this small Les Comes valley. This windmill is a clear example. In 1854, the company was created to exploit the mine for domestic use. The mine, which still exists, follows the stream below ground and used to take the water to the centre of the village. A bit further ahead, on the left, the pretty Can Coromines house is hidden.
