Introduction
We cross the La Guilla stream. Common bracken indicates small changes in humidity, insufficient to guarantee water in these high up springs of a seasonal nature. The next stream is called the Myrtle stream but in this one, just to the right of the spring, there is a small myrtle shrub (Myrtus Comunis). It's aromatic, up to 3m high and green all year round. It is common in the coastal towns and even more so in the Terra Baixa. It has many medicinal properties. Antiseptic, astringent, deodorant, recommended for lung infections and bronchitis. The leaves are supposed to prevent odours when applied to the armpits and groin.
