Introduction
The Les Comes windmill was used to collect fresh water from the ground in the Les Comes or Mascanada valley. At first, using wind power and then with an electric pump. A fertile valley, with sufficient water for the cereal, vegetable and fruit crops that surrounded the farmhouses. In 1854, the company was created to exploit the Les Comes mine for domestic use. The mine, which still exists, follows the stream below ground and used to take the water to the centre of the village.
At the foot of the windmill we find one of the mine's overflow pipes from which water flows all year round and which becomes a source that flows into the stream.
A bit further ahead, on the left, the pretty Can Coromines house is hidden.
