Introduction
Previously, at Pedralta, we saw rock-shaping phenomena.
Granite is originally magma, formed deep underground through the very slow cooling of magma, mixed with other types of rock.
The minerals that make it up crystallise in a certain order as it cools: first the micas, then the feldspars and finally, the quartz. The larger proportion of feldspar, specifically potassium feldspar, gives these rocks their pink colour.
