Introduction
Considered a national artistic monument since 1931, Vila Vella is the only fortified medieval town that is preserved throughout the Catalan coast.
It was erected at the beginning of the 13th century and almost all the wall is original, it has four large towers and three smaller ones, the tribute tower, the main one, is also called the tower of “es Codolar”, as it presides over this beach.
It emphasizes among many other elements, the portal to access the town and the cross of the fourteenth-fifteenth centuries, it is also part of the inventory of the Catalan architectural heritage.
