Introduction
Have I explained how we found Pau? That day brings back great memories... everything happened so quickly. The excavator was digging up clay in the area around Can Vila. A palaeontologist from our team was checking on it. Then he saw what looked like a fossil in the dust and clay. He stopped the machine... it looked like the face of a... primate? Yes!
Shortly afterwards, in the same place, the palaeontological digging started and 83 pieces were recovered from the Pierolapithecus catalauricus skeleton.
The study of these remains told us that Pau was a male, about 1.20 metres tall and weighing around 35 kilograms. The marks found on his bones tell us that Pau was probably eaten by a predator.
